Job Description Provide empirically-based individual psychotherapy to patients of the University of Chicago community. Positions open for treatment of adult patients who struggle with obesity (working in endocrinology). Reports to: The Department Chair and Lead Social Worker Major Responsibilities/Functions 1. Psychology of obesity/weight management: Assess psychological barriers to weight loss; provide motivational enhancement, cognitive restructuring/cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoeducation and individualized counseling to overcome barriers to weight loss and effectively supplement weight loss surgery. 2. Services include providing individual diagnostic interviews and goal-focused, evidence-based, time-limited psychotherapy. Treatments may include CBT, DBT, ACT , etc.; individual or group therapy if there is interest. 3. Full-time positions manage a caseload of up to 32 patients per week (average 25). 4. Interprets, monitors and records patient progress according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plan. 5. Performs other related work as needed. 6. No evenings or weekends.
