Under the direction of the Program Director, the Staff Behavioral Therapist will provide cognitive and behavioral therapy to residential and partial hospital patients. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in the development of the group therapy program, as well as assist in the training/supervision of post-docs, practicum students, and less experienced staff.
Salary will be in accordance with Hospital practices. A Harvard Medical School (HMS) appointment will be at the academic rank, up to Assistant Professor commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and HMS appointment criteria.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing individual cognitive and behavioral treatment.
- Serving as primary behavioral therapist for residential and/or partial hospital patients.
- Contributing to the case formulation, overall assessment, and treatment planning process for all assigned patients, including the development of a behavioral/ERP program.
- Coordinating treatment with other treatment team members.
- Utilizing objective measurement scales such as the YBOCS to document patients’ progress in treatment.
- Communicating with family members as needed.
- Leading treatment groups and participating in the overall development of the group therapy program.
- Leading or co-leading 4-6 behaviorally oriented groups.
- Devising protocols for groups in order to achieve/maintain consistency
- Participating in regular clinical staff meetings to retool program as needed.
- Assisting in overall coordination of daily Exposure and Response Prevention Group.
- Attending subcommittee meetings around revisions/additions to group schedule in order to make program more effective.
- Assisting in the supervision of groups run by postdoctoral fellows and counselors.
- Completing administrative duties as required.
- Providing clinical information to managed care agencies as needed.
- Developing and updating Behavioral Programs and Exposure Plans routinely in order to insure consistent and appropriate treatment of patients.
- Participating in ongoing Program Development.
- Providing training and supervision to fellows and staff via weekly seminar and individual supervision.
- Participating in research projects.
- Providing impromptu feedback in rounds and staff meeting about possible improvements to program.
- Completing mandatory in-service requirements.
Qualifications include:
- PhD, LICSW, or CNS.
- Must have behavioral therapy training and at least 2 years experience with cognitive-behavioral therapy, both individually and in groups.
- Prior experience using exposure and response prevention therapy.
- Independent licensure in MA preferred. Candidates awaiting licensure will be considered with the proper experience. Independently licensed clinicians may function independently, while candidates awaiting licensure must function under the proper supervision.
